Terms of Service

YunZheng LAB — AS204921 Educational and Research Computer Experimental Network

YunZheng LAB is a non-profit educational and research initiative operated by Zhenyun Sun. All services are provided on a cost-recovery basis to support networking education, research, and experimentation. We do not operate for commercial profit.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using services provided by YunZheng LAB ("we", "us", "our"), including but not limited to virtual machine hosting, BGP sessions, and network services available through yunzheng.space, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Nature of Organisation

YunZheng LAB operates AS204921, a non-profit educational and research computer experimental network. Our mission is to provide affordable infrastructure for networking education, research, and experimentation. Any fees collected are used solely to cover operational costs including server hosting, bandwidth, IP address allocation, and infrastructure maintenance.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use our services. By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and complete. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

4. Services

We provide the following services on a best-effort basis:

  • Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting
  • BGP session provisioning and management
  • Network connectivity and peering
  • Related educational and research infrastructure

Service specifications (CPU, RAM, disk, bandwidth) are described on the order page at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to modify service offerings with reasonable notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use our services for:

  • Any illegal activity under applicable law
  • Distributing malware, conducting DDoS attacks, or network abuse
  • Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam)
  • Hosting content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Mining cryptocurrency without prior written approval
  • Running open proxies, TOR exit nodes, or similar services without approval
  • Any activity that disrupts or degrades service for other users
  • Circumventing bandwidth or resource limits

Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your services without refund.

6. Payment and Billing

  • All prices are listed in Euros (EUR) and are inclusive of applicable costs.
  • Payments are processed through Stripe. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
  • Account credit top-ups are non-refundable except at our sole discretion.
  • Services are billed on a recurring basis. Failure to pay may result in suspension.
  • As a non-profit initiative, our pricing is set at cost-recovery levels and may be adjusted to reflect changes in our operational expenses.

7. Refund Policy

Due to the nature of our non-profit operation:

  • We may offer refunds on a case-by-case basis for unused service periods.
  • No refunds are issued for services used or for violations of these Terms.
  • To request a refund, contact us via our helpdesk.

8. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. As a non-profit educational network:

  • Services are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis.
  • We do not offer formal SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
  • Scheduled maintenance will be announced when possible.
  • We are not liable for data loss — you are responsible for maintaining your own backups.

9. Resource Limits

Each plan includes specified bandwidth and traffic allocations. If you exceed your monthly traffic quota, your connection speed may be reduced for the remainder of the billing period. Port speed and traffic limits are specified in your plan details.

10. Suspension and Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate services for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or abuse.
  • You may cancel your services at any time through the Orbit console (dash.yunzheng.space) or by contacting support.
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days. We are not responsible for preserving your data after termination.

11. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to content you host on our infrastructure. We claim no ownership over your data. You grant us only the limited rights necessary to provide the services (e.g., storing and transmitting your data).

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, YunZheng LAB and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of our services. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless YunZheng LAB and its operator from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Orbit console. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal proceedings.
